A Dancer’s Tool Kit

Organized is something that I desire to be one day. I’ve never been able to successfully maintain a system for keeping things in their place. I see those people who are organized and get green with envy every time.

But, I have developed ONE system that works well in my life.

As I mentioned before, the princess is a dancer. And, dancers require many, many things. As a novice to the world of competitions, I was carting around bags of makeup, and shoes and costumes and never really had everything in one place.

Until, I found a double stacked tool box to carry everything.

The tool box has compartments for nails, and tools and a pull out lid. I’m sure that the carpenters I know would cringe if they were ever to see my tool box all bedazzled and full of makeup.

The toolbox is also on wheels, so I can easily pull it along while I carry the garment bag full of costumes. My items are no longer too cumbersome for me to manage solo and the whole system is always together so I can find the tights and fake eyelashes instantly.

Now, I just need to adapt this system for her school supplies…

My name is Mom. I live in Fairy Tale Land with a Pirate, a Fairy and the Princess. My job duties include: head cook, Chief Executive of Laundry Operations, Vacuum Maintenance Engineer, Chief of Picking up Random objects and Primary Sherpa. I spend a great deal of time carrying sparkly, sequined, glitter covered tutus and miscellaneous dance shoes for the Princess. I long for moments of quiet and a mani/pedi. Trying to strike a balance between being a grown up and being a good mom. FairyTaleMom tagged this post with: , Read 52 articles by

There *has* to be a way to adapt this to all the other messes in our lives. A place for everything & everything in it’s place – that’s basically what it boils down to, right? Most of the time I don’t have that. I have disarray, chaos & “stuff” with no good home.

Once I’ve paired down the clutter, does it really come down to needing the right tool(box) for the job?
