We leave in just over a week for our long awaited Disney vacation—our first in 6 years. It is, quite by accident, our 2nd family vacation this year. Fate presented an incredible opportunity earlier this year, and we spent an amazing week at the beach. Before that trip, if you had asked me about my ultimate family vacation, I would have told you all about the trip we have planned for this month.

For years, I have dreamed of taking the girls back to Disney—of seeing the joy on Brenia’s face when she sees Cinderella’s castle for the first time in her memory, of Lorelai’s exhilaration in finally being old enough to ride rides and of one last family trip while Stacia is still (semi) pleasant to be around.

I am still incredibly excited about all those things, but I’m now aware that the hectic, theme park hopping vacation will be a stark contrast to our relaxed, sleeping in, lounging on the beach vacation in June. And, I’m not sure which one we’ll prefer. Maybe something a little more balanced—fun filled days at a theme park mixed with relaxed time on the beach.

That said, I do have a few things that would be a part of my ultimate family vacation. No, actually, I have several things that would specifically not be a part of my dream vacation:

  • whining
  • tattling
  • bickering
  • budgeting
  • exhaustion

Of course, I’m not sure Cheerios can help with all of that. Well, except the budgeting part—which would eliminate the road trip portion of our trip. Maybe that could reduce the whinging, tattling & bickering. It could also ensure that dishes, laundry and cleaning won’t be a part of our week away.

And, that’s kind of a dream right there.

Don’t forget to enter the “Do What You Love” Sweepstakes, for a chance to win your own ultimate family vacation. I was selected for this sponsorship by the Clever Girls Collective, which endorses Blog With Integrity, as I do.
