My life is pretty much awesome—and all over the map. From mom to volunteer to professional business woman, in the span of just a few hours. Some days are so chaotic, I barely remember to eat lunch. Some weeks, it’s all I can do to squeeze in just one of my “nightly” bubble baths.
And, months go by without a girls night.
When the statehouse meeting ended, several of the moms decided to have dinner downtown to take advantage of our time away from the kids. It was a fun evening with the girls (and Bg Kahuna). When we left, all of us promptly wondered why we don’t get together more often.
I’m sure it’s partly because I’m not the only one with chaos in her life. There’s barely enough time for the necessary—where do we make room for a “frivolous” girls night? Except, I think they’re more necessary than we understand.
Besides the opportunity to shed our mom skin for a few hours, spending time with other women provides plenty of opportunity to commiserate. Life is just a little easier to handle when you know you aren’t alone. Last night, we shared food & fun plus tips & advice for the life issues facing each of us.
And that is so worth the effort. I already have plans to hang with Michelle & Julie again soon, and I’m hoping to see Jen & Sherry at BlogIndiana later this year. But, what stops us the rest of the year?
